I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU READ ALL THE RULES THOROUGHLY, OR YOUR ENTRY MIGHT NOT BE ACCEPTED.
- Anyone may enter the Opus.
- Your entry MUST involve the theme of the week somehow, if it does not it will not be accepted for the challenge.
- Your entry may be either static or animated. The filesize and length of the emoticon is unrestricted.
- Your entry MUST be created exclusively for the Emoticon Opus, emotes created previously or for other challenges will not be accepted.
- Your entry must contain at least ONE emote, unless otherwise stated.
- You may NOT create your entry in any other art form than an emoticon or pixel art.
- To restate the previous rule: Anything created in any other format than commonly used to create emoticons will
NOT be accepted. This includes entries created with
Flash. You may however, as demonstrated in the
Epic contest, mix mediums to create your entry, but these mediums
MUST NOT include Flash, unless otherwise stated.
- Your entry may not exceed 400x400 pixels. If it does, you will be told to change the size so that we can accept it.
- You may only create ONE entry for the Opus, you may, however, edit that entry or change it as many times as you wish until the contest is over.
- Do not ask he or she who is running the week in which you entered to comment on your artwork.
- If you breach any of the above rules, your entry will be removed from the week's challenge, unless the rule states otherwise.
Emoticon Opus is a weekly emoticon challenge. Each week there is a theme with which contestants have to work with. They create an animated or static emoticon based around that theme. For example, a weeks theme could be rubber duckies. Each contestant would create an emoticon involving a rubber duck of some sort.
At the end of each week, I will choose three winners.
There will be only one sure-fire, continuous prizes, and those is you and your emoticon going into the #
EmoticonOpus shoutbox for all of eternity. Other prizes (depending on the generosity of people) may include a subscription, a feature in a journal, or a free request, or some other form of worship at your awesomeness for winning the Duel.
